Your athletic (gym) floors take a great amount of abuse during the school year. If you stop to consider the amount of abuse that goes on you will see what we mean. The truth is, it is being abused every day. Everything from the bouncing of basketballs, spiking of volleyballs, scuffs, gouges or the constant foot traffic. If it is a multi-purpose floor, that compounds the abuse. Then there is also the, *human factor*, to consider: perspiration, make-up, blood, food, drinks, gum etc., that eat away at your finish.
Even though your maintenance staff does a great job of keeping your floors clean, don't make the mistake of confusing SHINE or CLEAN, with WEAR! Always remember that the only thing protecting your lines, borders and logos, is your top coats of finish. As a rule of thumb, gym floors will wear through a coat of finish in a years time. In multi-purpose gyms, it wears even more! This leaves all your painted lines, borders and logos at the mercy of this abuse!
